A year after the Columbia Gas explosions took place our community is still trying to recover in more way than one. This song is dedicated to the resilient spirit of Lawrence and it's residents.

It might be off the news

But we still got healing wounds that are still hurting us inside
The poorly patched up streets and parks all ripped apart
Left as a grim reminder of a city left so scarred
The way we came together was like we knew it all along
They think of us as lesser people so of course they do us wrong
We didn’t wait for saviors that we knew wouldn’t appear
Instead we helped each other right in the face of fear

All the while not knowing if our homes had disappeared
